Menopause Care

Post-menopausal women's health : A woman is said to have reached the menopause once she has not had a period for one year. After this point, she can be described as post-menopausal. As a result of hormonal changes during menopause, many women experience both physical and emotional symptoms such as hot flushes and night sweats, sleep disturbances, vaginal dryness, urinary symptoms, psychological symptoms like irritability, depression etc. Most of these gradually stop naturally, but some women may need supportive treatment. Women around this age may develop other health issues like high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, breast problems, etc. Watch out and report early if you have breast lump or vaginal bleeding after menopause.

If any of the above mentioned problems is bothering you, meet with one of our doctors to get yourself checked and treated.

It is also recommended that women get a annual checkup around menopause and thereafter to ensure general health. An annual check would include a general and a gynaec check up, including PAP smear and additional relevant blood tests, which would be decided based on your general condition and risk factors.
